The region:
Quinta Rural is located in the wonderful and suprisingly diverse
Northern Portugal, at the slopes of the Serra da Cabreira
(the mountains of the goatkeepster), an old, granite, low mountain
range with steep valleys, clear mountainstreams anrounded
peaks, with a maximum of 1262 metres. The Serra da Cabreira is
situated in the eastern part of the Minho province, also known
as Costa Verde, and situated along the border with Trás-os-Montes
and the Tamega wine valley.
Leaving the
lovely Tamega wine valley behind, a winding road will take you into
a whole new world of rugged nature, old
granite villages and overwhelming views. You may have to slow down
to admire some wild horses (garranos) and prey birds,
or may even be stopped completely by a shepperd with his/her herd of
sheep, goats or cows. Images from the past seem to be
ever so present. There's no better museum to get to know the Old
customs and traditions being practiced.

The Quinta:
At the gateway of these two different worlds, at 500 meters of the
ancient village of Juguelhe, a warm welcome awaits you.

The altitude of 800 meters provides you with a pleasant mountain
breeze during the hot summer months. No wonder this area is
known for it's hiking, mountainbiking, 4x4, motor and horseback
riding trails.
The stunishing Adega is turned into a bar/bistro, where delicious
barbecues and other regional mealsare regularly prepared
for you, cooked over the fire and served with fine Portuguese wine.
Besides the outdoor activities in the direct surroundings, there's
